In this vocabulary extension course you will be introduced to new lexical items

Lexical Terms

in groups of 5. The aim is to provide you with an understanding of the grammar involved in the correct use of new words. Each new item is accompanied by its word “family”. This means that all words coming from the same root are included. A definition for each word is available in a glossary, and you will be asked to complete practice exercises. These can be checked against the correct answer. Finally there is a Progress Test for each

of the four 5-item “lessons”. Any queries you may have can be dealt with by your class teacher. Enjoy your course!

When students aren't busy with the E-ducation Without Borders conference, they'll be able to take advantage of one of Abu Dhabi 's most well-known attractions: its shopping. If time allows, I'd recommend visiting the famous old souk (marketplace) for an interesting cultural and shopping experience. Here one can find souvenirs at affordable if not negotiable prices, such as clothing, wall hangings, jewelry, and a menagerie of local goods. EWB students are lucky to get a chance to see the historic souk shortly before it closes, because beginning March 1 st the district will be completely renovated and modernized. The Marina mall is another must-see for serious shoppers, as its 150+ shops, 40 restaurants, Cineplex, and numerous coffeehouses provide a welcome distraction from the stressful life of being a student. Even a person who isn't naturally very fond of shopping would be struck by the opulence of this multilevel mall and the ethnic and cultural diversity of its vendors and patrons.
